RULES & REGULATIONS

PARADE LEAVES COLDWATER PUBLIC SCHOOL AT 1:00 PM
(Parade takes place on Friday 26th)
Bring entries to the arena on Thursday September 25th from 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Some entries such as Horse, Pony, Cattle Shows and Sheep and Goats are not listed in this book for Children & Youth to enter but can be found in the ADULT PRIZE BOOK.
Entry Tickets available in arena on preparation night. Bring list of your entries - there will be someone there to help you. If you wish your tickets in advance, they can be picked up at the Coldwater Library, Shell Gas Station, Dr. Godwin's Dental office, Coldwater Medical Centre (Dr. Ives/Dr. Stone), Georgian Hair Stylist, TD Canada Trust in Coldwater or contact Coldwater Fair @ 538-2111 or send an e-mail to coldwaterfair@yahoo.ca. If you are in school please provide the name of your school & telephone # on your ticket. If you are home-schooled, please provide your home telephone number on ticket.
YOUTH is classified between the ages of 12 & 17 and will receive a youth number and pay no exhibitor's fee unless the class says otherwise. A pupil may enter in the grade category they are in at the time of the Fair or if they wish, an entry may be made in a higher-grade competition, but NOT in a lower grade.
ALL WORK OF SELECTING AND PREPARING THE ENTRY MUST BE DONE BY THE EXHIBITOR (unless otherwise indicated). NO HANDICRAFT KITS ARE ALLOWED IN ANY ENTRY.
Pupils must NOT make more than one entry in any one class. If rules for each entry are not followed, that entry will be disqualified.
The collecting of produce from any place but home ground and exhibiting same is contrary to the regulations.
All entries MUST remain on display in the arena until 4:00 pm and picked up before 5:30 pm Sunday. Perishable articles remaining after 5:30 pm will be trashed.
While the Directors will take every possible precaution under the circumstances to secure the safety of the exhibits, the owners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting, and should any exhibit be accidentally injured or stolen, the Directors will give all assistance in their power towards recovery, but they will not make any payments of value thereof.
Prize money will be distributed to the school before November 30th.
If entries are removed before 4:00 pm, the student will forfeit their prize money.
Prize points are accumulated as follows: 1st - 5 points; 2nd - 4 points; 3rd - 3 points; 4th - 2 points; 5th - 1 points
E. Lorraine Orr Trophy - plus $10.00 will be awarded to the student who has won the most points from entries in the Fair, 2nd - $6.00; 3rd - $4.00.
Bernard Huronia Market Trophy (Coldwater Foodland) will be awarded to the school earning the highest percentage of prize points, per student.
Participation Plaque - showing names of schools who participate will be displayed in the trophy case at the Coldwater Arena.
PRIZE MONEY - 1st - $2.00; 2nd - $1.50; 3rd - $1.00; 4th - 50¢
